Newcastle's Mulligans Rebrands as Sports and Games Clubhouse
The Mulligans venue in Newcastle has undergone a rebranding to become a sports and games clubhouse. The updated concept shifts the venue's focus to offer sports viewing and interactive games to patrons.
- The rebranding is part of a six-figure refurbishment of the Newgate Street venue. - This is the third location to be updated to the new "Sports and Games" concept by parent company Adventure Leisure Ltd., with other sites in Cheltenham and Romford. - While crazy golf, electro-darts, and pool are still available, new additions include electro-shuffle games, which combine traditional shuffleboard with automatic scoring and digital interfaces. - To enhance the sports viewing experience, the venue now features stadium-style seating for 53 guests in front of a large screen, with additional screens throughout the location, all powered by Sky Sports and TNT Sports. - The venue, which originally opened in 2018 with a space theme as the first Mr Mulligan's in a major UK city, is now leaning into the growing "competitive socialising" trend. - The UK's competitive socialising market has seen a significant increase in venues since 2018 and is projected to continue growing, with multi-activity venues leading this expansion. - A new VIP area with private booths and personal screens is now available for private hire, and the food and drink menu has been updated to include pizzas, nachos, dirty fries, and 12 signature cocktails. - Adventure Leisure, which operates 15 Mulligans and BUNKERS branded venues, has been expanding its portfolio of entertainment locations since 2014.
