St. Louis Teamsters Ratify Brewery Contract

Over 245 Teamsters from Local 6 working at Metal Container Corporation, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, have ratified a new labor agreement. The members, who manufacture cans for the beverage company, secured a contract with significant wage improvements. The ratification concludes a period of negotiation between the union and the company in St. Louis.

- This contract is separate from the national agreement that 5,000 Anheuser-Busch brewery workers ratified in March 2024. - The Metal Container Corporation plant in St. Louis manufactures aluminum cans for a variety of beverage companies, including its parent company, Anheuser-Busch. - The previous collective bargaining agreement for these workers, ratified in March 2021, included increased wages, more paid days off, and enhanced life insurance benefits. - Teamsters Local 6, which represents the can manufacturing workers, also represents other Anheuser-Busch employees in the St. Louis area. - The parent company, Anheuser-Busch, has a long history of labor relations with the Teamsters, with some form of a national contract covering brewery workers being in place for over three decades.
