Samsung Enhances SmartThings Developer Center
Samsung is strengthening its SmartThings ecosystem by improving the SmartThings Developer Centre. These enhancements aim to streamline the process for hardware partners to build devices compatible with SmartThings and the Matter standard.
Samsung's enhancements to the SmartThings Developer Center include a unified console for all integration types, a guided workflow with progress indicators, and real-time status updates. The goal is to streamline the process for partners to integrate devices and obtain "Works with SmartThings" certification. The revamped center offers a single, intuitive console housing all necessary tools, workflows, and integrations. The updated Developer Center includes SmartThings Partner Analytics, providing insights into customer product usage while maintaining user privacy. This includes data on devices most often used together, top sources of product sales, and most-used features. The Developer Center will also soon support SmartThings Find devices and SmartThings API Access Apps. These enhancements arrive as SmartThings expands to support more device categories, service integrations, and protocols. Samsung is aiming to create a seamless experience for developers, as testified by Chasen Tolbert, Strategic Partnerships at FireAvert, who said, "Compared to other ecosystems, this is the easiest one ever".
