New Software to Scout Young Soccer Talent
Alessio Sundas has launched "Algoritmo Soccer," a new software designed to monitor and analyze the performance of young football players. The tool reflects the increasing use of data-driven talent development in sports.
The man behind the software, Alessio Sundas, is an Italian sports agent with a history of looking to bridge the gap between European and American soccer. His agency, American Group Sport Management, has been focused on bringing Italian players and even coaches to Major League Soccer (MLS) to raise the league's technical and tactical standards. Sundas's past work includes managing the transfer of Brazilian national player Andressa Alves da Silva from FC Barcelona to AS Roma. "Algoritmo Soccer" is designed to move talent identification beyond subjective observation to a more data-centric approach. The software is currently in use in the United States and several South American countries and is targeted at young players, their families, agents, and clubs. The platform collects and analyzes technical, physical, and statistical data to create detailed performance profiles. An associated app, "Algorithm Soccer Oracle," gives players a score from 1 to 1000. This score is generated by an algorithm that compares the player's performance across 33 key performance indicators (KPIs) against the data of top professional players in the same position. These KPIs include metrics like aerial duels won, pass accuracy, interceptions, and shots per 90 minutes. This new tool enters a growing market of data analysis platforms in soccer that are changing the face of scouting. Established platforms like Wyscout and StatsBomb provide extensive video footage and advanced statistical data from thousands of matches worldwide, and are used by top-tier clubs for tactical analysis and recruitment. "Algoritmo Soccer" aims to carve out a niche by focusing specifically on the developmental stage of young players. The software is offered to clubs and academies for a price of $7,900. This provides them with the ability to create profiles and technical sheets for all their registered players. Individual players can also purchase their own certified score for $69, giving them a quantifiable measure of their abilities to showcase.
