Ableton Live 12.3 drops

Ableton released Live 12.3 with workflow features that let you compare device settings side‑by‑side and pull Splice’s sample library directly into Live’s browser. ( ) The update also adds an Auto Pan‑Tremolo effect for stereo movement and ships new Push‑focused tutorials for chord playing and Push 2 setup in Live 12. ( )

Ableton released Live 12.3 on November 25, 2025, adding side-by-side device comparisons and built-in access to Splice inside Live’s browser. (ableton.com) The update is free for Live 12 users, and Ableton says it also includes Bounce Groups, Paste Bounced Audio, and Stem Separation in Live 12 Suite. Ableton previewed the release a week earlier, on November 18, 2025, before shipping it on November 25. (ableton.com, ableton.com) The new Device A/B feature lets users save two versions of settings in a built-in device and switch between them instantly. Ableton pitches it as a faster way to compare mix changes and sound-design choices without duplicating tracks or devices. (ableton.com) Splice now lives inside Live’s browser, where users can browse, preview, and download samples without leaving the software. Ableton says samples can be auditioned in sync and in key with a project, and Splice’s Search with Sound tool can recommend matching sounds from an existing clip. (ableton.com, ableton.com) That change lands as music software companies keep trying to keep producers inside one window for longer stretches of work. Ableton’s FAQ says the Splice feature is available across Live 12.3 editions, including Suite, Standard, Intro, and Lite. (ableton.com) Ableton also reworked Auto Pan into Auto Pan-Tremolo, folding stereo movement and volume pulsing into one device. The company says the update adds easier tremolo access along with deeper rhythmic and modulation control. (ableton.com) Push users got a separate set of additions in the same release cycle. Ableton says Push 3 adds an XYZ pad layout, a Rhythm Generator, touch-sensitive step editing, and standalone support for class-compliant audio interfaces. (ableton.com, ableton.com) For Push 2 owners, Ableton’s current setup guides say Live 12 configures MIDI preferences automatically when the controller is connected, and the company’s learning hub includes dedicated videos for setup and chord playing. Ableton also warns that manually adding Push 2 as a control surface in Live 12 can cause connection issues. (ableton.com, ableton.com) The release notes for Live 12 show 12.3 arriving with bug fixes beyond the headline features, including fixes for group-track bouncing, sample dragging onto plug-in windows, and several crashes. The update opens with workflow polish, but Ableton also used it to clean up the edges around daily production work. (ableton.com)
