Massive Frigidaire oven recall

Electrolux recalled over 174,000 Frigidaire gas ranges sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s and other retailers after delayed ignition in the bake burner caused at least 30 burn injuries — owners are told to stop using affected ovens and contact Electrolux for free inspection and repair. This is a high‑risk consumer safety recall that will generate lots of in‑store questions about repairs, replacements, and timelines. (foxbusiness.com)

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission posted the recall on March 19, 2026 under recall number 26‑333. (cpsc.gov) The recall lists about 174,800 units sold in the United States and roughly 5,300 sold in Canada. (cpsc.gov) More than 20 Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery and Frigidaire Professional model numbers are named (examples: FCFG3083AS, PCFG3080AF), with affected serial numbers VF52200000 through VF54399999 printed on the nameplate beneath the oven. (cpsc.gov) The CPSC says the ranges were sold at Lowe’s, The Home Depot and other retail stores nationwide and online at Frigidaire.com from June 2025 through January 2026, with retail prices listed between about $630 and $2,700. (cpsc.gov) Electrolux Consumer Products, Inc., of Charlotte, North Carolina is listed as the manufacturer. (cpsc.gov) Electrolux and the CPSC reported 62 consumer reports of delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner. (cpsc.gov) Electrolux’s remedy in the recall notice specifies professional in‑home installation of a replacement bake burner at no cost and notes cooktop burners can still be used. (cpsc.gov) The Home Depot posted the Frigidaire recall to its Products Recalled page on March 19, 2026, and Consumer Reports noted that all nine Frigidaire gas ranges it rates are included in the recall.
