Harry Styles Crashes SNL Monologue
Harry Styles made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live, interrupting Ryan Gosling's opening monologue to the delight of the live audience. The unscripted cameo quickly trended on social media and set the tone for a memorable episode.
The surprise appearance was a promotional lead-in for Styles, who is scheduled to pull double duty as both host and musical guest on the following week's show, March 14. This will mark his second time handling both roles, having previously done so in 2019. This was Ryan Gosling's fourth time hosting the late-night sketch show. His previous hosting gigs were in December 2015, September 2017, and April 2024. The episode's musical guest was Gorillaz, making their first-ever appearance on the show. During the monologue, Gosling attempted to sing a rendition of Styles' hit song "Sign of the Times," which is featured in Gosling's new film, "Project Hail Mary." The bit included a cameraman wearing an "I (heart) Harry" T-shirt who kept focusing on Styles instead of the host. Styles has a long history with the show, first appearing with One Direction for three musical guest spots starting in 2012. As a solo artist, he has been the musical guest three times and hosted once before his upcoming second stint. He has also been praised for his comedic timing in past sketches, including a notable impersonation of Mick Jagger.
