New Elden Ring on Switch 2!
Elden Ring is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as Tarnished Edition with early reviews suggesting significant improvements in frame rate and overall performance [https://wccftech.com/elden-ring-nintendo-switch-2-previews-show-much-improved-frame-rate-no-release-date, https://notebookcheck.net/New-Elden-Ring-Switch-2-previews-show-major-performance-improvement.1249043.0.html]. Early hands-on previews also highlight the Knight class with unique weapon options, and Limgrave runs smoothly [https://gamesradar.com/games/action-rpg/i-played-elden-ring-tarnished-edition-on-nintendo-switch-2-and-fat-rolled-across-the-lands-between-as-the-new-knight-class].
The "Tarnished Edition" includes the original *Elden Ring* game, the *Shadow of the Erdtree* expansion, and new armor. Players can also customize Torrent's appearance. The Switch 2 version introduces two new character classes: the Heavy Knight, with high defense and slower dodging, and the Light Knight, which offers high mobility for fast attacks. The new Knight class starts with a curved greatsword. Early tests at the 2026 Game Developers Conference (GDC) show the game running between 30-40 FPS in both handheld and docked modes. While not a perfect 60 FPS, it's a significant improvement over earlier builds shown at Gamescom 2025. The resolution is reportedly close to a native 1080p in handheld mode.
