Prochazka-Ulberg Fight for Vacant Title
Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will fight for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 327 in April after Alex Pereira vacated the belt. The Miami card also features Beneil Dariush vs. Manuel Torres and Mateusz Gamrot vs. Esteban Ribovics in key lightweight bouts. Prochazka previously won the title in June 2022 by submitting Glover Teixeira but has lost twice to Pereira since.
Alex Pereira’s move to heavyweight, announced on February 27, 2026, opened the door for this light heavyweight title clash. "Poatan" is aiming to become the first fighter in UFC history to win championships in three different weight classes, leaving the 205-pound belt vacant for a new king to emerge. Jiri Prochazka, the former champion, has a UFC record of 6-2, with all of his victories coming by way of stoppage. His only two losses in the promotion have been to the now-departed Alex Pereira. Since losing the title, Prochazka has bounced back with knockout wins over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr. Carlos Ulberg enters his first UFC title shot on an impressive nine-fight winning streak. After losing his promotional debut in 2021, the New Zealander has remained undefeated, with recent victories over former champion Jan Blachowicz and Dominick Reyes. Ulberg holds the record for the third-fastest knockout in UFC light heavyweight history at 12 seconds. The lightweight co-feature pits the veteran Beneil Dariush against the rising Manuel Torres. Dariush is looking to get back on track after a stunning 16-second knockout loss to Benoit Saint-Denis in his last outing at UFC 322. That fight was preceded by a unanimous decision win over Renato Moicano. Manuel "El Loco" Torres boasts a UFC record of 5-1, with all five of his victories coming via first-round finishes. He has earned a Fight Night bonus in each of his UFC wins. In his most recent fights, he secured knockouts against Grant Dawson and Drew Dober. The other lightweight matchup features Poland's Mateusz Gamrot against Argentina's Esteban Ribovics. Gamrot has won eight of his last eleven UFC bouts and is coming off a loss to Charles Oliveira in October 2025. Prior to that, he had secured a unanimous decision victory over Ludovit Klein. Esteban "El Gringo" Ribovics has a UFC record of 4-2. He is known for his exciting fighting style, having earned "Fight of the Night" honors in his last three bouts. Most recently, he won a unanimous decision against Elves Brener in August 2025.
