New Latin Fusion Restaurant Opens in San Jose

Suspiro, an upscale Latin fusion restaurant, is set to open in San Jose's Santana Row in March. The new establishment comes from the owners of the restaurant Zazil. Suspiro promises to add a new culinary experience to the area's dining options.

- The restaurant is a venture from the Buen Rallo Group, led by restaurateur Eduardo Rallo, which also operates other Santana Row establishments like Zazil, El Jardin, and Chika. - Suspiro's cuisine is a blend of Spanish and Peruvian flavors, focusing on fresh seafood and grilled meats. The menu features dishes such as ceviche, paella, and lomo saltado. - The Spanish influence is guided by Chef de Cuisine Oscar Santos-Pelegrin, a native of Barcelona who previously worked at the Michelin-starred restaurant Enigma. - The kitchen is also led by Executive Chef Yerika Munoz Rodriguez, who oversees other Buen Rallo Group restaurants and previously worked with renowned Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio. - In addition to the main dining room, Suspiro features a hidden, reservation-only speakeasy called S.Suspiro, with its own separate entrance, bar, and menu. - Suspiro is part of a wave of new high-end dining options in Santana Row, joining the modern Indian grill Fitoor and the Mediterranean restaurant Augustine from the Bacchus Management Group. - The Buen Rallo Group is further expanding its presence in Santana Row with the planned opening of Parranga, a Mexico City-style taqueria. - The restaurant's beverage program includes a variety of cocktails, with a notable selection of gin drinks inspired by Spanish traditions and Pisco cocktails like the Pisco Sour.
