Glenn Hughes Cancels All Shows

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Glenn Hughes, the former Trapeze bassist known as the "Voice of Rock," has canceled all upcoming concerts due to a "minor" health issue that requires his full attention in the coming months. Hughes is following medical advice but has not provided further details about his condition.

- The canceled U.S. tour was scheduled to run from March to May 2026, with 25 stops planned across the country, beginning in San Juan Capistrano, California, and ending in Tempe, Arizona. - This would have been the first U.S. tour since the September 2025 release of his 15th solo album, "Chosen". Hughes had just completed a tour for the album across Europe and South America in late 2025. - At 74 years old, Hughes has a history of health issues, including a bout of dehydration that forced him to cut a show short in Brazil in 2024 and a long-term battle with substance abuse, from which he has been recovered since 1997. - Hughes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 as a member of Deep Purple, where he served as bassist and co-lead vocalist with David Coverdale on the albums *Burn*, *Stormbringer*, and *Come Taste the Band*. - The relationship with his former Deep Purple bandmates remains strained; Hughes has stated he will never speak to them again due to what he described as disrespectful behavior at the 2016 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. - Beyond his solo work and tenure in Deep Purple, Hughes has been a member of several other notable rock bands, including Trapeze, Black Sabbath, and the supergroup Black Country Communion. - Despite canceling the tour, Hughes is still slated to appear at the Adopt the Arts Sound & Vision Awards on March 2, 2026, to honor fellow musicians Paul Rodgers and Geezer Butler.
