Lawsuit Alleges Wage Theft at GEA
Employment law firm Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP has filed a lawsuit against GEA Mechanical Equipment US, Inc. The suit alleges the company failed to accurately record employee work time, resulting in unpaid overtime wages and other violations of California labor codes.
The class-action lawsuit, filed in Stanislaus County Superior Court, is identified as Case No. CV-25-012103. It claims that GEA Mechanical Equipment US, Inc. engaged in a practice of "rounding" employee work time, which resulted in workers being paid less than they were owed. Specific allegations against the company include the failure to pay minimum wage and overtime, as well as failure to provide legally mandated meal and rest periods. The complaint also asserts that GEA failed to provide accurate itemized wage statements, did not reimburse employees for required expenses, and neglected to pay sick wages. These alleged actions would violate numerous sections of the California Labor Code, including sections 201-203, 226, 226.7, 233, 246, 510, 512, 1194, 1197, 1197.1, and 2802. The law firm representing the employees, Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP, specializes in employment law and has a history of filing class-action lawsuits against companies for alleged labor code violations.
