NBA Scores: Heat Crush Nets
Last night's NBA action saw the Miami Heat demolish the Brooklyn Nets 124-98, while the Golden State Warriors edged Houston Rockets 115-113 in OT. Other notable scores: Spurs 121-106 Pistons, Magic 115-114 Mavs, Pelicans 133-123 Kings, and Timberwolves 115-107 Raptors.
The lopsided result in Miami handed the Brooklyn Nets their 10th consecutive loss. The Heat's offense was firing on all cylinders, with Tyler Herro leading the charge with 25 points, supported by 21 from Bam Adebayo. Miami's bench was a significant factor, outscoring the Nets' reserves 54-34. In a much tighter contest, the short-handed Golden State Warriors managed to secure an overtime victory against the Houston Rockets. Brandon Podziemski and De'Anthony Melton stepped up for the Warriors, scoring 26 and 23 points, respectively, to overcome the Rockets on their home court. The Warriors now sit as the 8th seed in the Western Conference, with the Rockets at 4th. Rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama put on a show for the San Antonio Spurs, dropping 38 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and blocking five shots in a dominant win over the Detroit Pistons. The Spurs never trailed in the entire game. The Orlando Magic and Dallas Mavericks game went down to the wire, with Wendell Carter Jr.'s go-ahead dunk with just 1.4 seconds remaining sealing a one-point victory for the Magic. Zion Williamson led the New Orleans Pelicans with 23 points on an efficient 10-for-14 shooting in their road win against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings have now lost nine straight games at home. The Minnesota Timberwolves extended their winning streak to five games with a victory over the Toronto Raptors. Anthony Edwards provided the highlight of the night with a powerful two-handed slam over RJ Barrett on his way to 22 points. Looking ahead, the Heat will face the Charlotte Hornets next, while the Nets will try to snap their losing streak against the Detroit Pistons. The Warriors are set to play the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Rockets will host the Portland Trail Blazers.
