First Song from 'Bhoot Bangla' Drops
The first song from the upcoming horror-comedy "Bhoot Bangla," titled "Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge," has been released. The high-energy track features star Akshay Kumar with vocals by Armaan Malik and Amit Mishra. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on April 10, 2026.
"Bhoot Bangla" marks the reunion of director Priyadarshan and star Akshay Kumar after a 14-year hiatus, aiming to recapture the magic of their 2007 cult classic, "Bhool Bhulaiyaa". The film is intentionally designed to blend laugh-out-loud comedy with spine-tingling horror, a formula that proved successful for the duo in the past. The project was reportedly initiated by producer Ektaa Kapoor, who pitched the script to both Kumar and Priyadarshan. Interestingly, the film's catchy title, "Bhoot Bangla," was the brainchild of Akshay Kumar himself, who suggested it as a change from the original working title. The film boasts a large ensemble cast of veteran comedy actors, including Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani, all of whom have frequently collaborated with director Priyadarshan. The cast also features Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Mithila Palkar, promising a rich mix of talent. The story, developed by Akash Kaushik, is said to be a horror-comedy rooted in Indian mythology and black magic, drawing inspiration from ancient texts like the Vedas and the Mahabharata. Producer Ektaa Kapoor has described the film's varied comedic and dramatic elements as a "wild Gujarati thali." This film is a significant one for Akshay Kumar, who is seeking a box office success after a series of underperforming films following his 2023 hit, "OMG 2". His previous foray into the horror-comedy genre was the 2020 film "Laxmii". The soundtrack is composed by Pritam, with the first single, "Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge," drawing inspiration from the classic song "Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor" from Satyajit Ray's 1969 film "Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne". "Bhoot Bangla" is set to face competition at the box office, releasing on the same day as the rom-com "You, Me & Tuscany" and Guy Ritchie's action film "In The Grey".
