Fremont Hosts FOG Holi Festival Today

The FOG Holi 2026 Festival of Colors is taking place today in Fremont at Washington High School. The all-ages event runs from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with tickets available for $5.

The FOG Holi Festival is organized by the Federation of Indo-Americans of Northern California (FIA), a non-profit organization that has been active in the region for decades. Founded by Dr. Romesh Japra, the FIA also hosts the annual Festival of India Parade, a tradition in Fremont for over 30 years. Billed as the largest Holi celebration in the Bay Area, the Fremont event anticipates over 5,000 attendees. For comparison, another significant Holi festival in San Jose has drawn as many as 20,000 people, highlighting the scale of these cultural celebrations in the region. Holi, an ancient Hindu festival, celebrates the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It's a day for fostering friendship and harmony, where people playfully throw colorful powders, known as gulal, on each other. The FOG festival will feature organic, skin-friendly colors for participants. In addition to the throwing of colors, the event will include a variety of cultural performances. Attendees can expect nonstop Bollywood music from a DJ and dance performances by top local studios. More than 50 non-profit organizations are expected to participate, showcasing cultural performances from different states of India.
