Walking in Uganda

The Griffin Hike in Uganda this Saturday promises forest air, views, and a reset in nature—bookings are open for solo or group walks https://x.com/i/status/2031268038176075884.

The Griffin Falls hike takes you through Mabira Forest, a vast trail system with diverse flora and fauna. You might spot red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, or black and white Colobus monkeys during your walk. The hike to the falls is roughly an hour, but longer treks to Namusa Hill are also an option. The falls themselves aren't the highest, but they cascade through a rocky canyon, creating a tranquil environment. Griffin Falls Camp, which organizes the hikes, is run by the Mabira Forest Integrated Community Organisation (MAFICO). Proceeds from the camp go towards supporting local community projects, including tree planting, education, and health initiatives. Besides hiking, you can also experience the forest via zipline, soaring 40 meters high through the trees. Other activities include bird watching, camping, and archery.
