Cognizant and Google Cloud Expand AI Partnership
Cognizant has expanded its strategic partnership with Google Cloud to help businesses operationalize "agentic AI" at an enterprise scale. The collaboration will provide new AI builder capabilities, aiming to help organizations implement and govern complex AI systems more effectively.
- This expanded partnership builds on a collaboration that has been developing over the last six years and saw a significant AI-focused expansion in May 2023. The collaboration was further extended in August 2023 to create large language model solutions for the healthcare industry. - A core component of the deal involves Cognizant's internal adoption of Google Workspace with Gemini Enterprise to enhance its own productivity and service delivery speed. - Cognizant is investing $1 billion in generative AI over three years and, as part of this partnership, will train over 70,000 of its associates on Google Cloud's AI offerings. - To facilitate enterprise adoption, Cognizant is establishing a Gemini Enterprise Center of Excellence and Gemini Studios in its Cloud AI Innovation hubs in Bangalore, London, and Plano, Texas. - The collaboration is championed by key executives including Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, and Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Ecosystem and Channels at Google Cloud. - A key technological focus is on "agentic AI," which moves beyond simple chatbots to create autonomous systems that can reason, plan, and execute complex workflows without human intervention. - Cognizant will use its proprietary "Agent Development Lifecycle" and no-code tools like the Cognizant Agent Foundry to build and scale these agentic AI deployments for clients. - This partnership positions Cognizant as one of the first IT services firms to achieve ISO 42001:2023 certification, the world's first AI management system standard, assuring clients of its governance and risk management practices.
