SiteGround Launches AI App Builder

Web hosting platform SiteGround has launched Coderick AI, a new tool aimed at making custom software development accessible for small businesses. The AI-powered builder is designed to remove the technical and financial barriers to creating custom applications.

The new AI app builder is part of a broader strategic shift for SiteGround, a company with a 20-year history in web hosting. The company is repositioning itself as an all-in-one platform, integrating hosting with a suite of tools that includes an AI-assisted website builder, email marketing, and the "SiteGround AI Studio," a workspace with over 15 specialized AI agents for tasks like content creation and marketing. This move is built upon SiteGround's earlier transition to Google Cloud's infrastructure, a change made to handle the increased demands of AI applications. Coderick AI operates on a "vibe coding" principle, allowing users to describe their desired application in natural language. The tool then generates the front-end interface, back-end logic, and the necessary database. This approach is aimed at a growing market of "citizen developers" and small businesses, a segment that is projected to help the no-code AI platform market grow to over $75 billion by 2034. A key differentiator for Coderick AI is its integration with SiteGround's core hosting services. While many AI builders produce code or prototypes that users must then figure out how to deploy, Coderick creates applications that are "production-ready from day one." This bundled approach includes hosting, database setup, version control, and security in a single workflow, a strategy intended to reduce the friction between idea and live application. The development of Coderick AI is being overseen by key figures at SiteGround, including CEO Nikolay Todorov and Product Director Daniel Kanchev. During a live webinar, Kanchev demonstrated the platform's ability to build a staff scheduling app and a vet clinic website with a booking system from simple prompts. Future plans for the platform include the addition of an inline editor for more granular control, the ability to integrate with third-party APIs, and a code export feature for greater flexibility.
