Keanu Reeves' Dogstar Returns

Dogstar, featuring Keanu Reeves, announced a new album and tour with their title track "All In Now" marking the trio's second LP since reuniting in 2023. The alternative rock band's return continues their unexpected comeback after decades apart.

The band's origin story dates back to a chance encounter in a Los Angeles supermarket in 1991. Robert Mailhouse was wearing a Detroit Red Wings hockey sweater, which caught the eye of fellow hockey fan Keanu Reeves, leading to a friendship and jam sessions. Before their initial run ended in 2002, Dogstar toured extensively, opening for major acts like David Bowie and Bon Jovi. In a twist of fate, one of their own opening acts for an early show was the then-unknown band Weezer, playing their first-ever gig. The trio's first two albums were "Our Little Visionary" (1996) and "Happy Ending" (2000). Following their final performance in Japan in October 2002, the band went on a hiatus that would last two decades. During the break, guitarist Bret Domrose wrote music for film and TV, while Reeves and Mailhouse briefly formed another band called "becky". The official reunion kicked off in May 2023 with a performance at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival, their first public show in over 20 years. This was followed by the October 2023 release of their third album, "Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees." The forthcoming album, "All In Now," is the band's fourth studio effort and is set for a May 29 release on their independent label, Dillon Street Records. Production was handled by Nick Launay, known for his work with artists like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, IDLES, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. To support the new record, the band has announced a 25-date North American tour, in addition to previously scheduled dates for European festivals and shows.
