CyHi Drops Brutal J. Cole Diss

CyHi The Prynce released a scathing diss track titled "B.R.A Lost Control" targeting J. Cole. The track is a direct response to Cole's previous comments about Kendrick Lamar and features sharp lyrical attacks. The diss escalates current tensions among leading figures in hip-hop.

The diss stems from J. Cole's brief but tumultuous entry into the recent lyrical fray involving Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Cole initially responded to a Kendrick Lamar diss with his own track, "7 Minute Drill," only to publicly apologize for it days later during his Dreamville Festival performance and remove the song from streaming services. CyHi's track directly references Cole's apology, with lyrics suggesting Cole was "scared" of the confrontation with Lamar. This move by Cole was seen by some in the hip-hop community as a forfeiture, questioning his willingness to engage in lyrical battles. The animosity from CyHi also has deeper roots, stretching back nearly a decade to J. Cole's 2014 song "False Prophets." In that track, Cole criticized Kanye West for being surrounded by "yes men," a criticism CyHi, a longtime collaborator and writer for West, seemingly took personally. In "B.R.A Lost Control," CyHi explicitly tells Cole, "You forgot I still owe you for 'False Prophets'?" This line confirms the diss is not just about the recent beef with Kendrick Lamar, but also about long-held grievances over perceived disrespect towards his camp.
