Leeds Street Food Wins National Award

Leeds' DelhiWalaFood snags national award for thalis and curries — a must-visit for lunch and dinner according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. The street food spot is gaining recognition for elevating traditional Indian dishes.

DelhiWalaFood was crowned the "Best of Leeds" at the 14th English Curry Awards in August 2025. The annual event celebrates the best curry houses across England, with DelhiWalaFood taking the top spot for the city. The restaurant, located on Bishopgate Street near the Leeds train station, was established in 2022 and is a family-owned and run business. The kitchen is led by chef Nitin Sharma, who was born and raised in Delhi and has a background working in high-end hotels in India. The menu focuses on authentic Delhi street food, offering a wide array of dishes from chaat and stuffed parathas to various curries and Indo-Chinese options. They provide extensive vegetarian, vegan, and non-vegetarian selections, with popular dishes including Choley Bhature and various thalis. Beyond the award-winning food, the restaurant aims to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the bustling street food scene of Delhi. In addition to the English Curry Award, DelhiWalaFood has also been recommended by Restaurant Guru in 2024.
