COTE Miami Brings Korean Steakhouse Concept
COTE Miami, a Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse, opened in the Design District, combining high-end steakhouse service with Korean barbecue techniques. The Chowfather blog praised the restaurant's distinctive interactive dining approach and noted the excitement it's generating in Miami's food scene.
COTE is the brainchild of restaurateur Simon Kim, a Korean-American entrepreneur who sought to combine the festive, communal experience of Korean barbecue with the high-end cuts and service of a classic American steakhouse. The New York flagship, located in the Flatiron District, set the stage by earning a Michelin star every year since it opened in 2017. The Miami location, a 5,892-square-foot space, opened in February 2021 and was designed by architecture studio MNDPC to reflect both the New York original and Miami's Art Deco glamour. Each table is equipped with a smokeless charcoal grill where servers cook premium cuts of meat for the guests. The restaurant also features a prominent red-light dry-aging room for its USDA Prime beef. Under the direction of head chef David Shim, the menu features specialties like the "Butcher's Feast," which includes four selected cuts of chef's choice beef. A Miami-exclusive ceviche was created to honor the city's Latin American influences. The beverage program is also a key component, with a wine list boasting over 1,200 labels. COTE Miami earned its own Michelin star in 2022, making COTE one of the only U.S. restaurant brands with Michelin-starred locations in multiple cities. The brand has since expanded further, with locations in Las Vegas and Singapore, continuing to elevate the Korean steakhouse concept on a global scale.
