This suggests AI and automation for cleaning could see rapid adoption. Many hotels are increasing wages (89%) and offering more flexible schedules (61%) to attract and retain talent, yet shortages persist. This indicates that simply throwing money at the problem isn't a complete solution. Hotels are also exploring technology to streamline operations, with 43% investing in mobile technology for guest requests and 27% using it for staff communication. These investments may complement AI-driven task automation. Reduced hotel services are becoming more common, with some properties limiting room cleaning or restaurant hours due to staffing issues. Automation could help maintain service levels without increasing headcount.
