Wolf Alice Delivers Theatrical BRITs Performance

Wolf Alice delivered a standout, theatrical performance of 'The Sofa' at the BRIT Awards 2026 that was praised as a ceremony highlight. The band's creative stage production and emotive delivery further cemented their reputation as one of the UK's top live acts. Critics and fans alike highlighted the performance's visual creativity and emotional impact.

The band also took home the award for Group of the Year at the 2026 ceremony, their second time winning the category after a previous victory in 2022. In her acceptance speech, frontwoman Ellie Rowsell called for better support for artists and grassroots venues, saying a career in music "shouldn't feel like a golden ticket, but a viable career decision". 'The Sofa' is the second single from the band's fourth album, "The Clearing," which was released in August 2025. The piano-led ballad is a departure from their rockier sound, with Rowsell describing it as a song about embracing getting older and finding peace in comfort and stillness over the constant chase for new experiences. "The Clearing" is Wolf Alice's second consecutive album to reach No. 1 on the UK charts, following 2021's "Blue Weekend". The record has been noted by critics for its musical maturity, exploring a more polished sound with soft rock influences, while delving into lyrical themes of identity, aging, and fulfillment. This BRITs performance and win continue a long history of accolades for the London-based four-piece. Their 2017 album, "Visions of a Life," won the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2018, and the band has previously been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance. Following their BRITs appearance, the band is continuing "The Clearing World Tour." The tour includes dates across Europe, Mexico, and Australia throughout 2026.
