Doncic Leads Lakers Past Knicks

Luka Doncic scored 35 points and Austin Reaves added 25 as the Lakers beat the Knicks 110-97 without LeBron James (elbow contusion/foot arthritis). Russell Westbrook recorded his NBA-record 208th career triple-double (23 points, 12 assists, 11 rebounds) in Sacramento's 126-110 win over Chicago. Bam Adebayo became only the second Heat player after Dwyane Wade to reach 10,000 career points.

The victory marked the Lakers' fourth consecutive win, all achieved without the 41-year-old James on the court. The team has found a successful rhythm when led by the duo of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, who now hold a 9-2 record in games played without James this season. The Knicks struggled offensively throughout the contest, never taking the lead. New York's offense was particularly cold from beyond the arc, converting only 8 of their 34 three-point attempts. Jalen Brunson, while scoring 24 points, also committed seven of the team's 19 turnovers. Russell Westbrook continues to distance himself from the competition with his record-setting triple-doubles. The closest active player to his 208 is three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who has 181. This was the 37-year-old Westbrook's fourth triple-double of the season. The performance also moved Westbrook closer to another historic milestone. He is now just one assist shy of passing Mark Jackson to claim the sixth spot on the NBA's all-time career assists list. Despite his individual success, the win was a rare bright spot for the Kings, marking only their third victory in the last 23 games. Bam Adebayo's journey to 10,000 points cements his place in Heat history. Drafted out of Kentucky primarily for his defensive skills, he has evolved his offensive game significantly over nine seasons. Adebayo is currently on track to average at least 18 points per game for the sixth consecutive season. While Dwyane Wade's franchise scoring record of 21,556 points is still a long way off, Adebayo is closing in on another Heat legend's record. He is now second on the team's all-time rebounding list, trailing only Udonis Haslem.
