GROHE SPA has turned Milan’s Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato into an “Aqua Sanctuary” for Milan Design Week, running April 22-26. (grohe.com) The installation opened in the Brera district inside Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato at Via Rivoli 6, with public hours listed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 22-23, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 24-25, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 26. (milandesignweek.org) GROHE said the theatre was converted in a 72-hour window after the final curtain call, and described the project as its “most ambitious vision to date” for Milan Design Week 2026. (grohe.com) Event listings from Milan Design Week, Fuorisalone and Brera Design Week all describe the takeover as a first for the venue: Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato had not previously hosted an official design-week installation built around immersive water elements. (milandesignweek.org, fuorisalone.it, breradesignweek.it) The format shows how Milan Design Week keeps spilling beyond fairgrounds and showrooms into cultural institutions, with a bathroom-fixtures brand using a working theatre to stage a multisensory environment instead of a standard product display. (wallpaper.com, dezeen.com) GROHE SPA framed the installation around its “Wellbeing through Water” theme, presenting water not just as plumbing output but as part of architecture, ritual and relaxation. (wallpaper.com, grohe.com) The route is organized into three interconnected “sanctums,” each built around a different state of being and lined with the brand’s premium fittings, from showers and faucets to vanity concepts. (dezeen.com, tophotel.news) Trade coverage said one section features the 3D-printed AquaTree, another combines the Atrio Private Collection with a Buster + Punch collaboration, and a third centers on Allure Gravity and Aqua Tiles for choreographed water rituals. (tophotel.news, designboom.com) The installation is open only through April 26, ending the same week it opened and sending visitors back out of the theatre with GROHE’s fixtures positioned as stagecraft as much as household hardware.
