Notion highlights SF office design

Notion released a video showcasing its San Francisco office and how the space is deliberately designed to foster collaboration while the company scales. The feature positions physical design as a tool for team coordination and recruitment in growing tech firms. (x.com/NotionCoach/status/2042599513622483049)

Notion is using its San Francisco headquarters as part of the pitch for how it wants employees to work together in person. (youtube.com) The office tour appeared in a new YouTube video from First Round’s “In Office” series, which says the episode explores Notion’s San Francisco headquarters. Notion has also been hiring an Americas Workplace Lead in San Francisco to run its San Francisco and New York offices. (youtube.com) (jobs.ashbyhq.com) That job posting says Notion is “an in-person company across our global offices” and says “creative magic happens” when teams collaborate in the same space. The role covers workplace operations, meeting rooms, guest flow, food service, events, and what the company calls “magical moments.” (jobs.ashbyhq.com) Notion’s office strategy is getting more visible as the company grows across seven cities: San Francisco, New York, Dublin, Hyderabad, Tokyo, Seoul, and Sydney. Its careers page says the company is “growing faster than ever” across those offices. (notion.com) The company is also still expanding its hiring footprint. Notion’s jobs board listed 157 open positions on April 12, 2026, with many hybrid roles tied to San Francisco and New York. (jobs.ashbyhq.com) The San Francisco office itself is part of a bigger real estate move. In November 2024, The Real Deal reported that Notion signed a 10-year lease for about 105,000 square feet at 685 Market Street and planned to take five floors through 2034. (therealdeal.com) That lease put Notion in the middle of San Francisco’s post-2022 office reset, when artificial intelligence companies began taking large blocks of space that older tenants had left behind. The Real Deal said Uber had listed most of 685 Market Street for sublease in 2019 before Notion took the building over. (therealdeal.com) Notion has also been tying its identity more tightly to San Francisco. A July 21, 2025 video produced with GrowSF said the company had more than 100 million users and framed San Francisco as central to its history and future. (growsf.org) That user scale is not a small detail in an office story. Ivan Zhao wrote on September 3, 2024 that Notion had passed 100 million users, which helps explain why the company is formalizing workplace operations as it adds people, customers, and product lines. (notion.com) The office video lands as Notion sells itself less as a simple notes app and more as “the AI workspace where teams get more done, faster.” For a company making software for coordination, the headquarters is now part of the product story too.
