Boston's Copley Square Hosts Winter Pop-Up
The Frostival Lodge, a winter-themed pop-up, is open in Boston's Copley Square until February 28. The event features seasonal food and drinks, furniture from Wayfair, and a schedule of various activities. It offers a temporary seasonal destination for residents and visitors in the city.
- The Frostival Lodge is a key part of the inaugural "Boston Frostival," a city-wide effort by Meet Boston to attract visitors and reimagine the winter season. This larger festival also includes a 75-foot Ferris wheel on the Rose Kennedy Greenway and previously featured holiday drone shows over Boston Common. - The pop-up is a partnership between Meet Boston and Boston-based online retailer Wayfair, which has furnished the 5,300-square-foot space to be a "shoppable experience." Visitors can purchase the furniture and décor they see at the lodge online. - Eataly is the official food and beverage partner, offering winter-themed drinks and bites. The pop-up also features special culinary events, such as pasta-making and tiramisù classes. - In addition to food and shopping, the lodge hosts a variety of free daily activities, including weekly trivia nights, kids' movie time with silent disco headphones, live jazz on Sundays, and family-friendly arts and crafts on Saturdays. - The event incorporates sports and winter games themes, with opportunities for curling and cornhole, as well as watch parties for the Milan-Cortina Winter Games broadcast by partner NBC Boston. - The design of the lodge, which includes six furnished living rooms and glass-enclosed firepits, is meant to evoke the feeling of a Scandinavian landscape or a cozy alpine lodge. - This activation is situated in the recently renovated Copley Square, a historic public space that regularly hosts events like the Boston Marathon, First Night celebrations, and a Christmas tree lighting.
