Draper stuns Djokovic at Indian Wells

Draper's victory marks his third against a top-three player, with previous wins against Carlos Alcaraz. He is now in his sixth ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final. The British player needed only one match point to seal the win against the five-time Indian Wells champion. The match was incredibly close, with Djokovic actually winning one more point overall (99 to 98). Draper capitalized on net approaches, winning 86% of those points. He also fired 39 winners compared to Djokovic's 26. Djokovic has had a strong record at Indian Wells, securing five titles, which is the same number as Roger Federer. However, he hasn't won the title since 2016 and has suffered early exits in his last two appearances. Before Indian Wells, Djokovic only competed in the Australian Open this season. Draper will now face Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals. Medvedev has not dropped a set in the tournament thus far. Medvedev and Draper have played once before, with Medvedev winning in straight sets at the 2024 Italian Open.
