Tri-Valley Career Center to Host Job Fair

The Tri-Valley Career Center is hosting a job fair in Pleasanton for local residents seeking new employment. The event will feature local companies and provide networking opportunities and career resources for those looking to enter the workforce or make a career change.

The Tri-Valley Career Center is a service of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, operated in partnership with the Alameda County Workforce Development Board. The center provides a variety of free services for job seekers, including career counseling, workshops, and access to computers and printers. The upcoming Spring 2026 Job & Apprenticeship Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 11, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Tri-Valley Career Center's Pleasanton location at 5860 Owens Drive. While registration is recommended and can be done in advance, job seekers also have the option to register upon arrival. To help attendees prepare, the center offered free workshops on resume building and how to stand out at a job fair in the weeks leading up to the event. A diverse range of employers will be present at the fair, including government agencies like the Alameda County Sheriff's Office and the Oakland Police Department. Major companies such as AT&T and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will also be in attendance, alongside healthcare providers like Axis Community Health and various home care agencies. For those considering a new trade, several apprenticeship programs will be represented, offering pathways into various skilled professions. These include opportunities with the Alameda County Electrical JATC, the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 342, and the Western Burglar & Fire Alarm Association, among others. The most recent available data from December 2025 shows the unemployment rate in Fremont at 4.10%, while Pleasanton's was 4.20%. For the broader Alameda County, the unemployment rate was 4.40% in the same month. Beyond job fairs, the Tri-Valley Career Center serves as a community resource, offering free tax preparation for lower-income families, Medicare counseling, and assistance with CalFresh enrollment. The center's mission is to empower individuals and strengthen the regional economy by connecting job seekers with employers and resources.
