Art of Oscar exhibition in LA

The “Art of Oscar 2026” exhibition in Los Angeles features 13 local artists reimagining the iconic Oscar statuette THR's Art of Oscar 2026: 13 L.A. Artists Reimagine Oscar Statuette.

The "Art of Oscar" exhibition is in its third year, commissioned by *The Hollywood Reporter*. The Megan Mulrooney Gallery in West Hollywood is hosting the event, which runs through March 21. Fourteen West Coast artists contributed to this year's exhibition. Their reimaginings include a glazed earthenware candelabra and an Oscar in a wheelchair. One piece depicts the golden statuette sharing a still life with a loaded revolver. The goal is to challenge traditional representations of the Oscar statuette. By giving artists a platform, the exhibition sparks conversations about the cultural significance of the awards. Megan Mulrooney Gallery, established in 2024, aims to showcase emerging and mid-career artists. The gallery wants to revive the artist-forward ethos of the Los Angeles art scene.
