The 2026 American Music Awards will be held on Memorial Day, May 25, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT. Nominations for the awards will be revealed on Tuesday, April 14. These nominations are based on fan interactions reflected in Billboard charts, including streaming numbers, album sales, radio airplay, and tour grosses. Fan voting opens the same day as the nominations and closes on May 8. The AMAs will feature 50 categories, encompassing various genres. These include 14 genre-neutral and 36 genre-specific categories. Country and Latin categories lead with six each, followed by Pop, Hip-Hop, and R&B with five each. Rock/Alternative has four, K-Pop has two, and Dance/Electronic, Afrobeats, and Americana/Folk each have one.
