Loudoun County deputies arrested one suspect in the March 26 bank robbery in Middleburg and found a second suspect dead after a barricade in Hamilton on April 14. (loudoun.gov) The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said deputies went to the 200 block of South Saint Paul Street in Hamilton at about 4:10 p.m. to serve search and arrest warrants tied to the robbery. The suspect inside refused commands, barricaded himself, and later was found dead after deputies entered the home. (loudoun.gov) Investigators said the robbery happened on March 26 in the 200 block of West Washington Street in Middleburg, where Truist Bank is located at 202 W. Washington Street. Police said the robber displayed a weapon during that holdup. (loudoun.gov) (blueridgeleader.com) The second suspect, Paul Peter Gerardi Jr., 40, of Ashburn, was arrested without incident in Herndon on April 14. Loudoun authorities charged him with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony and said he was being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center pending transfer to Loudoun County. (loudoun.gov) The case widened beyond one Middleburg robbery within two days. Prince William County police said on April 16 that Gerardi and the dead suspect, identified there as Josiah Jor-El Jackman, were also charged in an April 1 Capital One bank robbery in Gainesville. (pwcva.gov) Loudoun Now then reported investigators had linked the same two men to a third bank robbery, in Fairfax County, making the Middleburg case part of a three-county robbery investigation across Northern Virginia. (loudounnow.com) Loudoun deputies have not publicly named the man who died in the Hamilton barricade, saying on April 15 that his identity was being withheld out of respect for his family. Prince William County’s incident report identified him as Jackman in its separate robbery case update. (loudoun.gov) (pwcva.gov) The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said both the barricade and the bank robbery investigation remain active and asked anyone with information to call 703-777-1021. For now, one suspect is in custody and the wider Northern Virginia robbery case is still unfolding. (loudoun.gov)
