ZTE Unveils "Full-Stack AI" at MWC
ZTE is showcasing its "full-stack AI innovations" at MWC Barcelona 2026, highlighting the deep integration of AI and ICT. The company plans to unveil eight new breakthroughs across areas like AI-powered connectivity, cloud, smart homes, and personal devices.
ZTE's presence at MWC Barcelona 2026 is anchored by its "All in AI, AI for All" strategy, an evolution of its previous "Connectivity + Computing" focus. This theme is showcased across four main areas: AI Agentic Connectivity, AI Cloud, AI Home, and Smart Personal Devices. The company's booth is located at 3F30, Hall 3, Fira Gran Via. Among the eight major breakthroughs to be unveiled is the AIR MAX for AI stack in mobile networks, a GigaMIMO 6G prototype with over 2,000 antennas, and a 200G PON prototype. For data centers, ZTE is highlighting its Elastic AIDC solution, which claims to reduce construction time by 40% and improve energy efficiency by 25% through advanced cooling and power systems. A key executive voice for the company's AI push is Chen Xinyu, Vice President of ZTE, who has detailed the "AI Factory" full-stack solution. This solution emphasizes "compute-network co-design" and "software-hardware co-design" to overcome the physical limitations of simply stacking hardware for AI models. The goal is to maximize resource efficiency and accelerate large-scale AI deployment. On the device front, ZTE is set to debut the nubia M153 smartphone, which will feature a technical preview of ByteDance's Doubao AI assistant. This move positions ZTE as an "AI-Native Phone Pioneer," aiming to transform smartphones into intelligent companions by integrating AI at the hardware, software, and ecosystem levels. This focus on AI is not new but a strategic progression for ZTE, which has been investing heavily in AI-native network architecture. At MWC Shanghai in 2025, the company had already detailed its roadmap for building intelligent infrastructure under the theme "Catalyzing Intelligent Innovation." The company holds over 48,000 granted patents globally, with significant filings in AI and chips. ZTE's enterprise-level AI agent is named Co-Claw, designed to be integrated into office work, R&D, and operational processes to enhance efficiency. The company is also collaborating with global partners, including an announced partnership with Virtuozzo for a Hyper-Converged Infrastructure solution, to build what it calls an open intelligent computing ecosystem. The company's autonomous network solution, AIR Net, has been certified by TM Forum and is already deployed with multiple operators. In the gaming sector, ZTE is shifting its branding from "Born to Win" to "Win More Games" with its REDMAGIC and nubia Neo series smartphones. Furthermore, ZTE has held the No. 1 global market share in 5G FWA and MBB devices for five consecutive years.
