Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s 2012 single “Beauty and a Beat” has jumped back to the top of Spotify’s global daily chart, 13 years after its release. (billboard.com) (vagalume.com.br) Billboard reported that the song surged to No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 3 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. on the chart dated April 25, 2026. Luminate data cited by Billboard showed 44.2 million streams worldwide and 3,000 downloads sold in the April 10-16 tracking week. (billboard.com) In the United States, “Beauty and a Beat” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 26, its first Hot 100 appearance since its original run in 2012. Billboard said the track drew 10.3 million U.S. on-demand streams in the April 10-16 tracking week, up 317% from the week before. (billboard.com) The immediate trigger was Bieber’s April 11 Coachella set. Billboard said his global catalog reached 663.9 million official on-demand streams in the week ending April 16, up 171% week over week, with gains in all 89 countries tracked by Luminate. (billboard.com) That rebound turned an old catalog song into a current streaming contender. Vagalume, citing Spotify’s April 14 global daily chart, reported “Beauty and a Beat” at No. 1 with 7.24 million streams, ahead of BTS’ “Swim” after 25 days at the top. (vagalume.com.br) The chart run also widened the conversation from streaming to chart math. Billboard’s U.S. chart report showed that Bieber placed four songs on the April 25 Hot 100, while “Beauty and a Beat” accounted for one of the biggest pieces of his 160.2 million U.S. streams for the week. (billboard.com) Spotify’s chart hub says its rankings are driven by listener activity across global and local charts. That makes a sustained daily run, especially across multiple markets at once, a direct sign that a catalog song is competing with current releases in real time. (charts.spotify.com) Billboard’s global chart methodology combines streaming and downloads from more than 200 territories, while the Hot 100 weighs U.S. streams, radio airplay and sales. A song can dominate Spotify globally and still land lower on the Hot 100 if radio and sales lag or if much of the volume comes from outside the United States. (billboard.com 1) (billboard.com 2) For Nicki Minaj, the run ties her to one of the biggest catalog revivals of April; for Bieber, it extends the Coachella aftershock from one weekend into multiple chart cycles. As of the April 25-dated Billboard charts, “Beauty and a Beat” was still sitting inside the top five globally and back on the Hot 100. (billboard.com 1) (billboard.com 2)
