Drake Hits Two Milestones
Drake's *Scary Hours 2* turned 5 years old — he was the first artist to debut top 3 Billboard songs simultaneously (What's Next #1, Wants and Needs #2, Lemon Pepper #3). His *Scorpion* album also hit 400 weeks on Billboard 200, making it the 10th longest-running rap album in chart history.
With the release of *Scary Hours 2*, Drake became the first artist in history to have three songs simultaneously debut in the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100. Previously, only The Beatles and Ariana Grande had held the top three spots at the same time, but their songs did not debut in those positions. The three songs that achieved this feat were "What's Next" at No. 1, "Wants and Needs" featuring Lil Baby at No. 2, and "Lemon Pepper Freestyle" featuring Rick Ross at No. 3. The tracks garnered significant streaming numbers, with "What's Next" receiving 49.1 million U.S. streams, "Wants and Needs" earning 41.5 million, and "Lemon Pepper Freestyle" collecting 32.1 million in their first week. This was not the first time Drake dominated the top of the charts. With the release of his 2018 album *Scorpion*, he became the first artist to debut four songs in the top 10 at the same time. That album also broke streaming records, becoming the first to reach one billion global streams in a single week. *Scorpion* debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 732,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week. The album featured three No. 1 singles: "God's Plan," "Nice for What," and "In My Feelings." The longevity of *Scorpion* on the Billboard 200 is notable, but it still trails other iconic rap albums. Kendrick Lamar's *good kid, m.A.A.d city* has been on the chart for over 500 weeks. Eminem's greatest hits compilation, *Curtain Call: The Hits*, holds the record for the longest-charting rap album, with over 584 weeks on the Billboard 200 as of June 2022.
