A YouTube video posted April 18 put J.CO Donuts at Jakarta’s Grand Indonesia back in the travel-creator feed, with the clip framing the mall as a full-day food-and-shopping stop. (youtube.com) The video, titled “First Time Trying J.CO Donuts at Grand Indonesia Mall, Jakarta,” was published on April 18 by creator Rhea Shanika. Its description says the visit included sushi, a food court, arcade games, photo booths and a stop at J.CO. (youtube.com) Grand Indonesia lists J.CO Donuts & Coffee in its directory at West Mall level LG, and the mall says it has more than 400 tenants at its Central Jakarta complex on Jalan M. H. Thamrin. (grand-indonesia.com, grand-indonesia.com) That matters in a Jakarta retail market where landlords and brokers have been tracking stronger in-person shopping patterns after the pandemic slump. Knight Frank said increased mall foot traffic helped drive the city’s retail momentum in the second half of 2023. (content.knightfrank.com) Grand Indonesia itself reported heavier crowds during Ramadan 2024. The mall’s corporate communications team told Antara that average traffic in the first three weeks reached about 53,000 visitors on weekdays and 68,000 on weekends, up 15% from Ramadan 2023. (antaranews.com) Property consultants have also described prime Jakarta malls as tight on space. Knight Frank said prime locations faced limited availability and high occupancy in 2024, while Colliers said mall owners needed to keep building “dynamic experiences” to hold visitors’ attention. (kfmap.asia, marcom.colliers365.com) J.CO remains a broad physical retail brand in that environment, not just a single viral stop. The company’s Indonesia location page lists multiple Jakarta outlets, including Grand Indonesia, Central Park and Blok M Plaza. (m.jcodonuts.com) Travel creators have kept returning to J.CO as a Jakarta content subject over the past year. Other YouTube videos about trying J.CO in Jakarta drew roughly 19,000 views eight months ago, 35,000 views nine months ago and new uploads again in April 2026. (youtube.com, youtube.com, youtube.com) Indonesia’s inbound tourism recovery has added to that audience pool. Statistics Indonesia said the country recorded 1.15 million international visitor arrivals in May 2024, up 20.11% from a year earlier. (bps.go.id) The April 18 clip does not prove traffic on its own, but it does show what creators keep pointing cameras at inside Jakarta malls: recognizable food brands, dense tenant mixes and places busy enough to film as part of the city experience.
