Bybit Co-CEO Helen Liu Resigns

Bybit, the world's second-largest crypto exchange by volume, announced that Co-CEO Helen Liu will depart the company on April 30. She is reportedly leaving to pursue her own entrepreneurial ambitions.

Liu's departure comes after a rapid ascent through Bybit's ranks since joining in 2020. She initially served as the Vice President of Human Resources before taking on roles as VP of Marketing, Chief of Staff, and Chief Operating Officer. Her promotion to Co-CEO alongside founder Ben Zhou occurred in 2025. This move was part of a broader leadership shuffle aimed at driving regulated global expansion. As Co-CEO, Liu was instrumental in overseeing Bybit's core business areas, including its global expansion and institutional offerings. Before her career in cryptocurrency, Liu held significant positions at major tech and e-commerce companies. Her experience includes roles as a Global HR Director at Nokia, HR Director at Microsoft APAC, and Deputy Chief People Officer at Lazada. Co-founder Ben Zhou will continue to lead the company as CEO. The company has stated that it will move forward with its current leadership team to advance its global business. Zhou has a background in the retail foreign exchange industry, having served as the general manager for the Greater China region at XM before co-founding Bybit in 2018. Bybit serves over 82 million users across more than 181 countries and has become one of the most influential digital asset platforms globally. The exchange is recognized for its customer-centric approach, offering 24/7 multi-language support. In addition to her corporate roles, Liu is the founder of the Blockchain for Good Alliance, an organization focused on using blockchain technology for social impact. She also founded Moledao, a platform designed to nurture blockchain development talent.
