Eagles Sign Jordan Davis to $78M Extension

The Philadelphia Eagles have locked down a key piece of their defense, agreeing to a three-year, $78 million contract extension with defensive tackle Jordan Davis. The deal secures one of the league's top interior defenders through the 2028 season, solidifying the Eagles' defensive line for the foreseeable future.

The $26 million average annual value of the extension places Davis among the highest-paid interior defensive linemen in the NFL, behind only players like the Chiefs' Chris Jones. This new deal makes him the highest-paid nose tackle in the history of the league. Davis was the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, signing a fully guaranteed four-year rookie contract worth $17 million. He was set to play the 2026 season on his fifth-year option, which would have paid him approximately $12.9 million. The 2025 season was a breakout year for the 6-foot-6, 336-pound tackle, as he recorded career-highs in tackles (72), sacks (4.5), and tackles for loss (9). His performance in 2025 was a significant jump from his 2023 season, where he tallied 45 tackles and 2.5 sacks. A key anchor in the middle of the Eagles' defense, his presence has been crucial against the run; with Davis in the lineup, opponents have averaged 112.3 rushing yards per game. He has started every regular-season game for the past three seasons after serving as a rotational player his rookie year.
