The *Knights of the Old Republic* remake was initially announced in 2021 but faced development troubles, leading to a shift from Aspyr Media to Saber Interactive. Sources indicate that Saber Interactive took over the project in May 2022. Despite the change in developers, there were concerns about the remake's future after Embracer Group, the parent company of both Aspyr and Saber, underwent restructuring. Saber Interactive reaffirmed that the remake is still in development in February of 2024.
