Shinedown Hits #1 on Rock Charts
Shinedown's latest single "Searchlight" just hit #1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart, reflecting sustained momentum for the band. This latest chart-topper, "Searchlight," marks Shinedown's 22nd No. 1 single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The achievement further extends their record for the most number-one songs in the history of the chart, which was first launched in 1981. The band with the second-most No. 1s on the chart is Three Days Grace. The band's long history of chart dominance began with their first-ever chart-topper, "Save Me," from their 2005 album *Us and Them*. Since then, all of their 34 singles released in the format have reached the top five. "Searchlight" is a single from their upcoming eighth studio album, titled *EI8HT*, which is scheduled for release on May 29. Other singles from the forthcoming album include "Three Six Five," "Dance, Kid, Dance," and "Killing Fields." The band's previous album, *Planet Zero*, was released on July 1, 2022, and was their seventh studio album. That album also featured a No. 1 single with its title track. The album was produced by the band's bassist, Eric Bass. Shinedown is scheduled to embark on a U.S. tour in May to support the new album. The tour is set to begin on May 13 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and will include a stop at the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival.
