Walmart is remodeling more than 650 U.S. stores this year and plans about 20 new openings in 2026 and early 2027. (corporate.walmart.com) The company announced the plan on April 16 from Bentonville, Arkansas, saying it had already opened new stores this year in Eastvale, California; Apollo Beach, Jacksonville and The Villages, Florida; and a Neighborhood Market in Ocala, Florida. It also said more projects are coming later this year, including a Supercenter expansion in Tucson, Arizona, and a new Supercenter in Celina, Texas.
