Baby Keem Lands First No. 1
Baby Keem's *Ca$ino* debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with 72,000 equivalent units — his first chart-topping project. He celebrated with his first headlining show in three years at NYC's Webster Hall on March 4, featuring *Ca$ino* tracks and surprise guests. The performance marked his return to the stage since touring with Kendrick Lamar in 2023.
*Ca$ino*'s chart-topping debut surpasses his critically acclaimed 2021 album, *The Melodic Blue*, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum. That project was propelled by the hit single "Family Ties," a collaboration with his cousin, Kendrick Lamar. The success of "Family Ties" earned the Las Vegas native his first Grammy Award in 2022 for Best Rap Performance. Keem was also nominated for Album of the Year twice for his contributions to Kanye West's *Donda* and Lamar's *Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers*. Both of Keem's studio albums have been released via pgLang, the "at service" company founded by Kendrick Lamar and his longtime collaborator Dave Free. Keem was one of the first artists to partner with the creative entity, which also produces short films and advertising campaigns. The new album, *Ca$ino*, continues the collaboration between the cousins, with Lamar featured on the track "Good Flirts." The project also includes guest appearances from Bay Area legend Too $hort, singer Che Ecru, and Momo Boyd of Infinity Song. Production on *Ca$ino* was handled by a team that includes Keem himself, Danja, Sounwave, and a surprise credit for actress Yara Shahidi, who co-produced the track "Birds & the Bees."
