Bills Land DJ Moore From Bears

The Buffalo Bills agreed to acquire wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears in one of the most significant NFL trades this pre-draft season. The move gives quarterback Josh Allen a proven downfield target and bolsters Buffalo's receiving corps heading into the playoffs.

To acquire DJ Moore, the Buffalo Bills sent a 2026 second-round draft pick to the Chicago Bears. In return, the Bills also received a 2026 fifth-round selection. This move provides quarterback Josh Allen with a new primary target, a significant need after the Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans two years prior. Moore, who will turn 29 in April, is a proven veteran with four seasons of over 1,000 receiving yards. He had a career-best 1,364 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in his first season with the Bears in 2023. His production has decreased over the past two seasons, culminating in a career-low 682 receiving yards this past season. The trade reunites Moore with new Bills head coach Joe Brady, who was his offensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and part of the 2021 season. During his time under Brady in Carolina, Moore had two of his most productive seasons, including a career-high 18.1 yards per catch in 2020 and over 1,100 receiving yards in both years. The deal addresses a significant void in the Bills' receiving corps, which was described as lacking consistency throughout the 2025 season. Moore joins a receiver room that includes Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, and his former Panthers teammate Curtis Samuel. For the Bears, the trade frees up salary cap space as Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III have emerged as their primary receivers.
