Apex Legends Tackles Cheating

Apex Legends is adopting CoD's TPM 2.0 in ranked matches to combat cheaters ruining old hardware play.

The move to TPM 2.0 could significantly raise the barrier to entry for cheaters using older PCs or virtual machines. This hardware-level security measure makes it harder to bypass anti-cheat systems. Respawn Entertainment is likely hoping this will reduce the number of compromised accounts and unfair matches in Apex Legends' ranked mode. The developers have been actively exploring different methods to combat cheating in the game. However, this decision may also exclude legitimate players who don't meet the TPM 2.0 requirement. There could be some backlash from players with older systems who are now unable to play ranked.
