Michelin-Starred Junoon Prix Fixe
Michelin-acclaimed Junoon is earning raves for its four-course prix fixe featuring elegant Indian dishes, plus Blue/Purple cocktails with rum-pineapple-chili and blue pea-masala chai. The fine dining scene also saw Five Sails hosting a collaboration with two-Michelin-star Tanière³, Anne-Sophie Pic sharing London French cuisine tips for International Women's Day, and chef Daniel Boulud discussing emerging bar dining trends.
Junoon, which translates to "passion" in Hindi, earned a Michelin star the year it opened and held the prestigious rating for eight consecutive years. The New York restaurant was founded by restaurateur Rajesh Bhardwaj and chef Vikas Khanna, who aimed to redefine how Indian cuisine is presented on the global stage. The restaurant offers several prix fixe options, including a "Prestige" menu with two courses for $43 or three for $49. Signature appetizers include Eggplant Chaat with tamarind chutney and crispy okra, while main courses feature dishes like Ghost Chili Murgh Tikka and charcoal-smoked pork ribs with a vindaloo spice rub. The collaboration between Vancouver's Five Sails and Quebec City's Tanière³ was an exclusive two-night "four hands" dinner series in late February. The eight-course menu, priced at $250 per person, was available to Visa Infinite cardholders and featured pairings from Old World vineyards and British Columbia wineries. The dinner brought together 2025 Canadian Culinary Champion Alex Kim of Five Sails and chef François-Emmanuel Nicol from Tanière³, which holds two Michelin stars. The menu was designed as a dialogue between the Pacific Northwest's coastal bounty and Quebec's terroir-focused cuisine, featuring ingredients like Pacific bluefin tuna and Haida Gwaii sablefish. Anne-Sophie Pic, one of the world's most decorated female chefs, comes from a culinary dynasty; both her father and grandfather held three Michelin stars at the family's restaurant, Maison Pic, in Valence, France. In 2011, she was named the World's Best Female Chef. In 2026, Pic's cuisine is set to travel beyond Earth as she is designing special dishes for French astronaut Sophie Adenot's mission to the International Space Station. She is also preparing to open a new restaurant in Paris located at the Fondation Cartier contemporary art museum. Restaurateur Daniel Boulud has also been active, reopening his beloved Café Boulud in a new New York location in late 2023 after it closed during the pandemic in 2021. The menu retains its four-section structure: La Tradition (classics), La Saison (seasonal), Le Potager (vegetable-focused), and Le Voyage (global cuisines).
