Prochazka-Ulberg for Vacant LHW Title

Jiri Prochazka will face Carlos Ulberg for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 327 after Alex Pereira vacated the belt. The UFC continues stacking the card with two additional key lightweight bouts announced. Pereira's decision to vacate opens up the division.

Alex Pereira's move to the heavyweight division, in pursuit of becoming a three-division champion, is what opened the door for this title clash. The Brazilian's departure creates a power vacuum at 205 pounds, leaving the division without a reigning champion for the first time in years. Jiri Prochazka, a former light heavyweight champion, gets a chance to reclaim the belt he lost to Pereira. The Czech fighter, known for his unorthodox style, is the first-ever UFC champion from his country and holds a professional record of 32-5-1. Carlos Ulberg enters his first UFC title shot on an impressive nine-fight winning streak. Since losing his promotional debut in 2021, "Black Jag" has defeated notable names like former champion Jan Blachowicz and former title challenger Dominick Reyes. The matchup pits two of the division's top-ranked contenders against each other, with Prochazka sitting at #2 and Ulberg at #3. Prochazka is coming off knockout victories over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr., while Ulberg most recently knocked out Dominick Reyes in the first round. The championship bout headlines a stacked UFC 327 card in Miami on April 11, 2026. The co-main event features another title fight, with Joshua Van defending his flyweight belt against Tatsuro Taira.
