Queens of Stone Age Tour
Queens Of The Stone Age announced their 2026 U.S. "Catacombs Tour" — a new run of dates bringing the band's signature gritty sound to major cities nationwide. The tour continues their legacy as one of the most compelling live acts in modern rock.
The "Catacombs Tour" is a direct evolution of the band's audacious concert film, "Alive in the Catacombs." This film documents a special performance held in July 2024 within the actual Catacombs of Paris, making Queens of the Stone Age the first band ever granted permission to play in the historic underground ossuaries that hold the remains of millions. The idea for this unique concert was a long-held dream of frontman Josh Homme, who first visited the site nearly two decades prior. The upcoming tour will feature all-new, reimagined arrangements of their songs, specifically crafted to reflect the intimate and acoustically sensitive nature of the Catacombs performance. The original underground set was recorded in a single take with no overdubs and featured a three-piece string section, a stark departure from their typically heavy rock sound. Attendees of the "Catacombs Tour" are encouraged to "dress to the nines," adding to the special, theatrical atmosphere of the evenings. This tour follows the extensive "The End Is Nero Tour," which supported their 2023 album, *In Times New Roman...* That global tour featured a rotating lineup of diverse supporting acts, including The Armed, Viagra Boys, Jehnny Beth, and Spiritualized. Setlists from that tour regularly included a mix of new tracks like "Emotion Sickness" and "Paper Machete" alongside long-standing fan favorites. *In Times New Roman...* was met with varied critical reception. Some critics lauded it as the band's darkest and heaviest work in years, a raw and cathartic reflection of frontman Josh Homme's personal struggles. Others, however, found the album to be repetitive and lacking the innovative spark of their earlier work. The album's lyrics delve into themes of loss, grief, and acceptance, influenced by Homme's recent personal challenges. Opening for the "Catacombs Tour" is singer Libby Grace. Grace is a friend of Josh Homme and previously collaborated with him on the "Desert Sessions," a collective of musicians who record in the California desert.
