CLAY LA returns to Los Angeles this weekend, with Craft Contemporary opening its ninth annual ceramic market and fundraiser on April 24. (craftcontemporary.org) The event starts with a preview night on Friday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Craft Contemporary, 5814 Wilshire Blvd., with tickets priced at $20 for the public and $15 for members. (craftcontemporary.org) The public market follows on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday is included with $9 museum admission, and Sunday is pay-what-you-wish. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary describes CLAY LA as its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser, built around sales, workshops, and exhibitions tied to the museum’s ceramics program. The museum says hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors have taken part over the years. (craftcontemporary.org) This year’s market centers on Los Angeles makers, with Craft Contemporary saying the roster mixes emerging and established ceramic artists from across the city. The 2026 vendor list includes Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, Greg Lowe Arts, Hugh Remar Los Angeles, People’s Pottery Project, Tierra del Sol, and more than 20 other studios. (craftcontemporary.org) The weekend also includes free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on both market days, with materials donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. Preview-night ticket holders also get one complimentary opportunity-drawing ticket, and additional entries will be sold on-site for $5. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary has made ceramics a recurring part of its programming, and the museum says CLAY LA now sits alongside workshops, sales, and its upcoming fourth clay biennial, “tierra.” PBS SoCal included CLAY LA in its weekly roundup of notable Southern California events for April 20-26. (craftcontemporary.org) (pbssocal.org) For visitors, the pitch is straightforward: a three-day chance to buy ceramics directly from makers before the market closes Sunday at 5 p.m. in Miracle Mile.
