Outta Sight Pizza to Open New Bar in San Francisco's Civic Center

Outta Sight Pizza is expanding with a new bar venture in San Francisco's Civic Center. The popular pizzeria will take over the space formerly occupied by the dive bar Shovels. Further details about the new establishment's name and concept have not yet been released.

- Outta Sight Pizza was founded in 2020 as a pop-up by Eric Ehler and Peter Dorrance, who met while working at the Michelin-starred San Francisco restaurant, Mister Jiu's. - The pizzeria is known for a signature style that combines crispy New York-style slices with the techniques of Neapolitan pies, using seasonal ingredients. Their "Madonna" pie is a signature dish, and they also offer creative rotating specials. - The new bar will be named Reggie & Maude's and is located on the same block as Outta Sight's Larkin Street location in the Tenderloin. The co-founders plan to add their "Outta Sight aesthetic" and hope to open by the summer. - The space at 533 Larkin Street was most recently Pomeroy Bar & Grill, which closed in February 2026 after one of the partners decided to leave the business. Before that, it was known as the Irish pub Shovels and, for many years prior, Harrington's Harry Pub. - The founders started as a pop-up at the Fig & Thistle wine bar in 2020 before opening their first brick-and-mortar location in the Tenderloin in 2022, followed by a second shop in Chinatown in 2025. - Outta Sight's owners have expressed a strong commitment to the Tenderloin neighborhood, choosing it for its affordability and diversity. - The pizzeria has gained national recognition, being ranked among the best pizza places in the country.
